The holidays are coming!
If that sentence just struck fear in your heart, that means you’re in the same headspace as I. But don’t fret, I’m here for you, helping to usher in the holiday season full of cheer, despite the familial and financial terror.
So … without further ado … let’s start this holiday season party off right every Wednesday this month with a dope ass list of the all of the things for which I’m thankful AF, starting with these big ass hands. LOL
My long ass body stands a whole 6 feet and one inches tall.
And while long legs and reaching the top shelf are always a plus,
This long ass body also come with long ass arms …
Long ass feet …
And these big ass, long ass hands.
And that’s exactly what we’re talking about on this fine Wednesday morning.
As I thought about the things I’m thankful for to kick off this month’s antics, one of the first things I thought about was these hands.
I mean, they’re pretty fucking fantastic after all.
They help me to create so many beautiful things.
They get stained with color as I rub them on canvas to make art into the late night hours.
They were the first skin that ever touched my newborn babies and still bring them comfort and love to this day.
Heck, they even do tremendously useful and practical things, like wipe my azz and pick cole out of the corners of my eyes (never at the same time, of course).
They’ve broken up fights …
And …
Even started some.
They’ve been placed on the bodies of lovers, giving pleasure … and sometimes pain.
They’ve wiped tears,
held hands (big and small) so tight.
And these long ass fingers on these long ass hands are used for punctuation when I speak.
These hands …
So on this thankful blog Wednesday, I write to you from these hands, to these hands, about these hands.
And I’m forever grateful for their ability to help me get things from my mind and heart out to the world.
