My paternal grandmother was an amazingly creative woman who had a hand for calligraphy and making pottery. Her sister was an incredible baker, who would construct beautiful, multi layered cakes with intricate decorations … from scratch! My maternal uncle was a wonderful artist, a master of charcoals and pencils.
I had a hell of a year! I completed a development program. Applied for some grants. Made a lot of art (who would have thunk it). Got this blog up and running. And just passed the first part of a 3 part exam, which was one of the hardest things I’ve done in a long … Continue reading Bringing in the New Year Unhappy?!
So I was supposed to write this blog yesterday … But I didn’t. Why? Because I don’t have to. And that’s what I’m thankful for this week. And not only is this the perfect way to close out this thankful November, it’s also the perfect way to kick off our December antics (starting next Wednesday, … Continue reading Thankful AF! “I Don’t Have to do Shit!”

I used to think men were some sort of secret maze. But then I had a son … And I realized that they are just really tall, little boys with a range of emotions and experiences layered atop. Now, I don’t mean that in any demeaning sense, but simply that they are more vulnerable and … Continue reading TheLadyWrites82 Presents: The People Series — Episode 3: Men are Just Tall Boys … and That’s OK
This week’s interview was … let’s just say … interesting. There were moments when I clutched my pearls … Some when I winced to brace myself for what was going to come out of his mouth next … Others when I laughed heartily … And some when, even with my insanely fast typing speed, I … Continue reading TheLadyWrites82 Presents: The People Series — Episode 2: “I’m Not Compatible with Either Sex Because I’m a Hoe!”
