Don’t Let ‘Em Kill Your Vibe

It was a wild week, yall! I finished last week’s blog; Posted it; Did a little meditation; Centered myself; Listened to some vibey ass tunes on the way to work. I was in a good space … A really good space … I was primed, ready, and centered. And then … I let someone knock … Continue reading Don’t Let ‘Em Kill Your Vibe

Who I am – VS – Who I Want to Be

Have you ever consciously reinvented yourself? Not in a gradual way like we do as we age and mature though. What I’m talking about is literally sitting yourself down and saying, “Girl! Yes, you girl over there in the mirror. It’s time for a change.” I have. And I’m about to do it again. Why? … Continue reading Who I am – VS – Who I Want to Be

I Ain’t No Punk B****!

I’ve had a hell of a two weeks, y’all! *fake faints to add a little drama to that statement. Now, I won’t bore you with the details of the shenanigans I had to endure, because the important part of this story is that I’ve been drowning in a sea of insurance companies, car salesmen, and … Continue reading I Ain’t No Punk B****!

My Struggle, My Identity, My Life is NOT FOR SALE!

This week’s lesson is less about what I learned about me this week … And more about what I learned about the world. You know, like a proverbial light bulb moment, only this light bulb was turned out a while ago. In fact, I wrote a whole blog about this light bulb moment last year, called … Continue reading My Struggle, My Identity, My Life is NOT FOR SALE!

Your Ancestors are Watching!

My paternal grandmother was an amazingly creative woman who had a hand for calligraphy and making pottery. Her sister was an incredible baker, who would construct beautiful, multi layered cakes with intricate decorations … from scratch! My maternal uncle was a wonderful artist, a master of charcoals and pencils.

Bringing in the New Year Unhappy?!

I had a hell of a year!  I completed a development program.  Applied for some grants.  Made a lot of art (who would have thunk it). Got this blog up and running.  And just passed the first part of a 3 part exam, which was one of the hardest things I’ve done in a long … Continue reading Bringing in the New Year Unhappy?!

Thankful AF! “I Don’t Have to do Shit!”

So I was supposed to write this blog yesterday … But I didn’t. Why? Because I don’t have to. And that’s what I’m thankful for this week. And not only is this the perfect way to close out this thankful November, it’s also the perfect way to kick off our December antics (starting next Wednesday, … Continue reading Thankful AF! “I Don’t Have to do Shit!”

TheLadyWrites82 Presents: The People Series — Episode 6: Little Notes to God

Brianna, 36 Sexuality: “As straight as they come.” Children: "Nope … unless you count the cats." TheLadyWrites82 Presents: The People Series — Episode 2: “I’m Not Compatible with Either Sex Because I’m a Hoe!”

This week’s interview was … let’s just say … interesting.
